Jennifer Swanson

Jennifer has been a middle school mathematics teacher for the past 17 years. She loves teaching middle school students, the challenges and changes these student face each year keep her motivated to try and enhance a love and understanding of mathematics in all of her students. Jennifer has her BS in Mathematics Education from Metro State and is currently working on her Masters in Education at UCD. She has three children that keep her very busy in her home life and is an avid reader when she can find the time.

Ericka has been teaching in Englewood for 12 years, mainly in middle school math and science. She helped create and launch Englewood Leadership Academy in 2000, and remains committed to this unique program. Her educational interests include brain based learning and the integration of math with the arts, and currently works with an art teacher to find innovative ways to engage students. Ericka lives in the foothills with her husband and two kids, and loves to be outdoors hiking, running, skiing and enjoying Colorado.

Miranda Price

Miranda currently teaches 8th grade Math and Algebra and Englewood Middle School. She also coaches Volleyball and Track. Along with having a resident in her classroom, Miranda is involved with a grant that teaches math through visual art. She was a Lead Teacher for the GK-12 project last year and is excited for year 2!

Suzanne Stark
Middle School: Englewood Leadership Academy

Suzanne has been teaching for 25 or so years, most of which has been 6-8th grade science. For the last several years she has been teaching at a small public middle school (Englewood Leadership Academy) in Englewood, Colorado. They are working toward an International Baccalaureate certification as a Middle Years Program (MYP) school and next year will add a 9th grade class, which is both exciting and terrifying. Suzanne enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading, and an occasional camp out.

Peggy was born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. She earned her bachelors and masters degrees from Northern Arizona University. Peggy taught in Arizona for 15 years and in Colorado for 5. She enjoys her family, reading, playing cards and camping.

Craig grew up in Ohio and received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from The Ohio State University. He taught Science at an English immersion school in Concepcion, Chile for 6 weeks as part of his Master's program in 2001 and moved out to Colorado in July of 2001 after always having dreamed of living in the mountains. In his free time, Craig enjoys pretty much any activity that involves being outside and spending much of that time racing road bicycles. Even though he now lives in a land-locked state in the middle of the country, he still tries to get to the beach once or twice a year for some relaxation and to pursue one of his other interests: SCUBA diving. The 2009/2010 school year will be his 9th year teaching 8th grade Physical Science.

Dan is entering his second year of teaching 8th grade Science. Prior to entering education, Dan held a variety of sales positions that has greatly benefited his communication and relationship building with students. In addition to teaching Science, Dan sponsors the Rocket Club and also coaches Basketball. He enjoys spending time with his wife, mountain biking, woodworking, and anything else active.
